I have learned about disruptive innovations and understand the effects of disruptive technology on education and society. I believe covid-19 has had a huge impact on the learning processes which led to educational technology disruptions. During the lockdown, the traditional educational schools were closed which initiate the learning process through digital sources. If I compare it with traditional learning models such as chalkboards and information from textbooks, I think disruptive technology is more beneficial. For example, Moodle is a platform where student can do their coursework and interact with their teachers and peers. This technology also democratizes education which means education is easily accessible to all individuals irrespective of their backgrounds. Due to technology, a student from a remote area could have access to education. the platforms such as MOOCs provide access to a wide range of courses on individuals’ interests and paces. Moreover, if an individual wants to improve some personalized skills such as learning a language or facing difficulty in a particular coursework, then he/she can take advantage of language learning apps such as Duolingo and can learn at a personalized level which increases student motivation and interest. However, in some countries, the internet connectivity is not good, then these technologies would not be beneficial, during covid when I was teaching, due to internet issues, some student loses their interest and concentration because they were also lacking personal interactions.

The disruption of traditional educational institutions mostly took place after covid -19. Thus, educational technology introduced new tools such as artificial intelligence, online teaching platforms such as Khan Academy, and many more.
